“Pety passarinha” (“Pety the Bird”)

In the classroom, the teacher, Rutênia, is giving a class about Santos Dumont. Pety is enchanted with the 14-bis biplane that the teacher drew on the blackboard. On her way home from school, Pety determined to put into practice one of the ancestral dreams of humans – to take flight. She sets out to take on this attempt and experience with her loyal friend, Zezinho. The book tells the story of the dream of all children which is the desire to fly. Pety and Zezinho spend their afternoon full of adventures as they seek to fly and accomplish their dream of being human birds.

The film begins with a beautiful and majestic rainbow appearing in the sky of Tutameia. Pety and her friends set out in search of the chest of gold. They head in the direction of the city’s forest. The children experience various adventures with the fantastic beings of Brazilian folklore. They discover that the real treasure can be much closer than they ever imagined.

Gabriel e Moara are re-united a year and a half after acting together in the movie “Pety Can Do Everything” that was made for TV Brasil. Gabriel return to São Paulo for the premier of their movie. He lives in Piritiba, Bahia. The two spend an atypical day in the big metropolis. São Paulo becomes the third character in this short film characterized by its architecture, multiculturalism, and extravagance.

Pety is a girl with a majestic sense of control over all that is in her environment. One day on her walk to school she believed that she got a warning from Angel Gabriel that her pet rabbit, Little Legs, was going to die. She was afraid that Little Legs would die and this propels her in the grand attempt to circumvent the prophesied destiny.
