Silas Barbosa, piano.

Dates:  March 25 & 26, 2020
Venue: Guiomar Novaes Space– Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Song cycles of Franz Schubert on poems of Wilhelm Müller. Die Schöne Müllerin (The Beautiful Miller) e Winterreise (Winter Travel) are cycles    of songs composed by Schubert based on poems by Wilhelm Müller. They are considered two of the main historical landmarks in the development of writing for song and piano. Schubert’s musical inventiveness when he addressed these poems are emblematic of the aesthetics at the beginning of romanticism and raised the genre to levels that had never been achieved before. It made these two scores true “pieces of confrontation” between singers who dedicate themselves to the repertoire of chamber music songs.
